Itinerary

Day 1:  – Arrival at Kochin and trip to Munnar
Greeted on arrival in Kochi, your journey to Munnar will be an experience in itself.  You can’t fail to notice the waterfalls on the way to munnar like Valara waterfalls and Cheeyappara Waterfalls. Enjoy the waterfalls as you resume your journey to Munnar.  Water as a resource is an integral part of Indian life in Kerala and contributes to the lush and exotic environment and the local economy.  Cheeyappara flows down seven steps, a true taste of paradise.  Dinner by the campfire awaits you on your first night in Munnar.

Day 2: Munnar sightseeing
A day spent in Munnar where you can opt to explore the streets of this town or head into the hills and get in amongst the terrain.  A mix of car, boat and your own two legs offer great access into the rolling hills and higher peaks of Munnar.  Waterfalls, dams and lakes are the hallmarks of Munnar making it the ideal location for keen explorers, energetic families or romantic couples.

Head for Mattupetty and boat, horseback ride or picnic waterside or amongst the plantations.  For those who love their history, there is plenty to discover within a stone’s throw of your hotel.   Munnar is famous for its spice plantations as well as tea and coffee or just wander the streets and take in the local vibe. Eravikulam National Park, Kundala Dam, Chithirapuram, Nayamakad and Powerhouse Waterfalls are other popular sightseeing sports in munnar. overnight stay at the resort after enjoying the campfire.

Day 3: Alleppey (Houseboat)
We will take you from your hotel in Munnar to Alleppey where your houseboat awaits.  View the paddy fields from the deck of your traditional thatched Kerala houseboat as you gently cruise along tranquil backwaters edged with coconut palms.  This is a chance to savour local life, habitats and working trades as so much industry in Alleppey is centred on the water.  Enjoy life on slow speed, you have all the time in the world.  Overnight accommodation and dinner are on your houseboat which will return to Alleppey in the evening to moor.  The peaceful sound of the lapping water will accompany your meal and gently lull you into a peaceful sleep. All meals will be served on board. Overnight stay at houseboat.

Day 4: Departure
Checkout from houseboat, enjoy a day spent driving through the best tourist attractions of kochi and fort kochi– Marine Drive, Willington Island and Kochi Harbour.  You have the whole day ahead before we return you to the airport in the evening for your flight home.  Kerala is an assault on the senses, the atmosphere, tastes, smells and visual impact are intensely colourful and this short tour will give you just a flavour, picquing your tastebuds, a return visit will definitely be on the cards.

  • Travel insurance, unless arranged separately by the traveler.
  • Tips and gratuities for guides, drivers, or hotel staff.
  • Meals not specified in the itinerary or meals outside of the scheduled times.

  • Terms and Conditions
    1. Booking and Payment
      • A 50% advance payment is required at the time of booking to confirm your Periyatra package.
      • The remaining 50% must be cleared before the commencement of the journey.
    2. Cancellation Policy
      • Cancellations made more than 30 days prior to the travel date will receive a 75% refund.
      • Cancellations made between 15 to 30 days prior to travel will receive a 50% refund.
      • No refund will be provided for cancellations made within 14 days of the travel date.
    3. Itinerary Changes
      • In case of unforeseen circumstances such as natural disasters, roadblocks, or government restrictions, the itinerary may be adjusted accordingly.
      • Any additional costs arising from changes in the itinerary will be borne by the traveler.
    4. Health and Fitness
      • Participants must be in good health and physically fit to undertake the journey.
      • Travelers are advised to carry necessary medical supplies and ensure they are medically fit before undertaking the journey.
    5. Travel Documents
      • Travelers must carry a valid government-issued ID proof (Aadhar, Passport, Voter ID) for verification during the journey.
      • Any personal documents required for travel entry must be submitted on time.
    6. Accommodation and Services
      • Accommodation will be provided on a twin-sharing basis in pre-booked hotels/camps as per the itinerary.
      • Any personal expenses such as laundry, telephone calls, or optional activities will be borne by the traveler.
    7. Liability
      • Periyatra and its representatives will not be responsible for any loss, damage, theft, or personal injury during the journey.
      • Travelers are advised to have their own travel insurance covering medical emergencies and loss of belongings.
    8. Force Majeure
      • In case of natural calamities, strikes, political unrest, or any unforeseen circumstances, Periyatra packages may be altered or postponed.
      • Travelers will be informed promptly, and adjustments will be made accordingly, without any compensation for delays caused.
    9. Code of Conduct
      • Travelers must adhere to a respectful and disciplined behavior during the journey.
      • Any inappropriate behavior may lead to immediate termination of services without a refund.
    10. Photography and Media
    • The use of personal cameras or photography equipment is permitted, but travelers must obtain prior permission for professional filming or photography.
    1. Final Decision
    • The final decision regarding the smooth operation of the journey, itinerary adjustments, and services will be at the discretion of Periyatra and its tour leaders.
